Global 4D Experience Benefit

The University of Denver supports the Global 4D Experience Benefit initiative, which provides up to $1,450 in financial support towards round-trip international airfare and/or student immigration application fees for participation in a Fall, Winter, or Spring DU Partner Program.

Global 4D Experience Benefits

Students who meet the eligibility requirements may only apply these benefits to DU Partner Programs presented in our portfolio. Note: Summer programs are not eligible for the Global 4D Experience benefit. DU Partner Programs are the result of formal agreements between DU and partner institutions/programs. There is no separate application for the Global 4D Experience benefit; rather, eligible students automatically qualify when they submit their application to study abroad on a DU Partner program.

  • Up to a $1,450 benefit towards the cost of transportation to and from the study abroad host city or for visa application fees, residence permits, or permits to study, and foreign airport entry or exit fees that are not included in the student's travel fare.

Eligibility

  • To be eligible for the Global 4D Experience benefit, students must:
    • Be juniors or seniors at DU during the period of study abroad (have completed at least 90 credits at time of eligibility check)
    • Have a minimum DU GPA of 3.0 at the time of eligibility checks
      • A student's cumulative grade point average relative to the eligibility will be evaluated at the end of winter quarter for fall and academic year programs; at the end of summer quarter for winter quarter and spring semester programs; or at the end of fall quarter for spring quarter programs.
    • Be in good academic and student conduct standing at DU
      • Good student conduct standing includes satisfying all pending outcomes imposed by the Office of Student Rights & Responsibilities. If a student is placed on probation after being accepted to a DU Study Abroad Program (due to behavior at DU or overseas), students will no longer be eligible and all benefits and non-recoverable expenses will be charged to the student's account.
    • Have completed at least two-quarters of full-time enrollment at DU before the beginning of the period of study abroad
    • Have not participated in a prior study abroad program receiving benefits
    • Be at least 18 years of age at the time of departure for the period of study abroad
    • Book your airfare tickets via the OIE Travel Partner & follow all booking instructions (no other booking methods are eligible)

The OIE checks for eligibility two quarters before you go abroad. You'll get an email confirming whether you're eligible at that point.
