Global Masters Scholar Model

The Global Masters model consists of the first 3 years of undergraduate study taking place at DU, then 1 year of study abroad at the partner institution (DU's fourth year). The 3 years at DU and 1 year of study abroad constitute a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Denver. The fifth and final year of study will take place at the partner institution, in which upon completion the student will be awarded a Master's degree by the partner institution. Students enrolled at DU can opt into the Global Masters programs if they meet eligibility requirements at each university, DU's study abroad and exchange requirements, and any additional requirements specifically determined for any of the Global Masters programs.

Admissions Process

These are the general guidelines for GPA requirements for Global Masters Scholars at the University of Denver. Please consult with the individual DU academic department on other specific requirements.

• Students must be majoring in the Global Masters Program's subject area at the University of Denver.
• A minimum 3.0 overall GPA at the time of application for the Global Masters program with DU department and maintained through degree program after application submission (Deadlines are typically in the Fall as established by the department or unit).
• A minimum 3.5 GPA in the major is recommended by the Office of Internationalization. However, the DU department or unit, in collaboration with the partner university, will establish the GPA requirement.

Admissions Process

• Meet with the Global Masters Faculty Advisor in department by early fall of 2nd year.

• Complete and submit the department's application by the department's deadline.

• Complete Study Abroad Nomination by January deadline of 3rd year.

• Meet with Study Abroad Advisor to plan for Study Abroad Year in fall of 3rd year.

• Complete all study abroad pre-departure requirements and on-campus degree requirements including INTZ 2501.

• Depart to destination.

• Apply for the master's program directly through the host university, and prepare for the logistics of the master's year (i.e. housing, immigration, etc.).

• Become a full-time student at the host university (no longer a DU student) and complete a master's degree.

Lund University

• Global Masters in Biological Sciences

  This program is offered in collaboration between DU Department of Biological Sciences and Lund University’s Department of Biology. It is available to students majoring in biology at DU. • Global Masters in Political Science

  This program is offered in collaboration between DU Department of Political Science and Lund University’s Department of Political Science. It is available to students completing a BA in Political Science at DU. University of Glasgow

The University of Glasgow partners with DU to offer two Global Masters programs in English Literature and Engineering.

• Global Masters in English Literature

  This program is offered in collaboration between DU Department of English & Literary Arts and the University of Glasgow’s School of Critical Studies.
